While nothing particularly stands out, this album has several build ups and instrumental moments that make it worth a listen. The clean vocals are possibly the best aspect about this album, while they aren't overly impressive, they help give the band a sound to distinguish themselves from the overly crowded genre. Unfortunately, other than that, the instrumentation ranges from being downright boring to occasionally blood pumping. The harsh vocals aren't as appealing either.

Sonic Syndicate convey the current state of melodic-death metal perfectly, in that the genre deserves to die. The up and coming band don't give a single reason as to why they should exist in such an over saturated genre.

Once you pick apart the elements of this record bit by bit, then what we have here is merely modern metalcore that seems to get a sick thrill out of masquerading as melodic death metal. As terribly bland as Only Inhuman is, though, the album itself features some actually nice moments and the contrast between Richard Sjunnesson and Roland Johannson's vocals are a little bit acceptable.

I really love this album. Although it might sometimes sound a bit similar to itself it doesn't really matter to me. Sonic Syndicate are one of the few bands (imo) to do that without losing my attention. One of the album that introduced me into melodic metal, one listen and I was in love, has been ever since.

Catchy melodic death metal/metalcore from you guessed it, Sweden.Joining the next wave of Swedish metal along Scar Symmetry and Blinded Colony is Sonic Syndicate. After winning the Nuclear Blast battle of the bands and signing on quickly comes out with Only Inhuman. Extremely catchy metal with heavy and melodic riffing,cool drum patterns, and dual vocals. However the bass is practically nonexistent. Very accesible and everyone should give this a spin. Highlights include Denied,Aftermath and the ballad Enclave. Go out and buy it.
