This was recommended to me & I really wish it wasn't. This is a disgrace to Pop Rock. It sounds absolutely horrible.

Though admittedly an inoffensive yet still 100% unoriginal listen, some of the lyrics found on here are quite terrible.. Look at Naked, Gorgeous, and basically half of this release. Also these guys have a real penchant for just putting too much noise in there music, overcrowded and unnecessary doesn't even begin to describe some of the random samples that pop up throughout this release.

In the realm of ultra generic alt. rock "Renegades" is actually a pretty solid song. Catchy, uplifting, good beat. And Jungle is actually a very cool track. But the rest of the album is some of the most piss poor alternative you'll listen to this year. It's a shame because their EP wasn't entirely terrible in and of itself.

I didn't think I would ever force myself to sit through a more worthless album until now. Somebody such as myself had this feeling that X Ambassadors' debut studio album wasn't going to be any good judging by Green Baron's review, but you wanna know something? I anticipated the material to at least be listenable and well-produced; those adjectives couldn't be any further from a cesspit of lies. With comparisons to the incredibly banal rock act Imagine Dragons being made alongside Alex da Kid's name written all over VHS, it's best that you either brace for impact or just turn the fuck around. Those interludes are obnoxious, too, by the way.

A snooze fest, "VHS" consists mostly of filler tracks, and only "Renegades" and "Jungle" were outstanding. Not even Imagine Dragons could save this record.
