Bullet top their last two efforts here. The songwriting is much stronger and the overall musicianship is back. The main problem Bullet have here, which is something that's plagued their releases for their whole career, has been the fact they slip so easily into a formula. So many of the tracks on this album will follow the same pattern of one big scream in the opening seconds starting the music, which is OK in small doses but once you notice the pattern, it can get quite jarring.

I believe this is the best effort BFMV has released since SAF, and beats that record in certain aspects (but not all). Temper Temper only had a few decent songs, and Fever and SAF had great songs with a few fillers. Venom doesn't feel fillerish. It shows the return of outstanding muscianship from all of the guys. No Way Out, The Harder The Heart (The Harder It Breaks), and Skin are all stand out tracks for me, but the entire album is really good. Venom has to be one of the best tracks they've written, feels like the proper continuation of Tears Dont Fall, overall best album they've written in a while! It won't match The Poison, but honestly, does it have to? This is the new bullet sound, and I'm glad they are back to being the great band that they are.

Standard solid BFMV and a huge improvement from the last mediocre offering. definitely some solid melodies but
still very safe. probably their second best album to date with a lot of enthusiasm and energy they had a decade
ago. Glad to hear they are back to old form.
standout tracks are venom and harder the heart.

looking up to be a decent album. No complaints, just thought it would be nice to write something a bit positive before the inevitable, hate fuel of people who write 1's and 1.5's, and have not listened to an album that has yet to be released. By the way, people, stop doing that.

If you're willing to overlook the formulaic compositions and the cringeworthy lyricism, Venom is quite the easy album to sit through. There's a clear lack of creativity throughout metalcore band Bullet for My Valentine's fifth full-length recording, but it's an otherwise salvageable release. That goes double if you can take into consideration how awful and uneventful Temper Temper and Fever were, respectively. BFMV still won't top Scream Aim Fire (I actually prefer it over The Poison, so shoot me), although their latest album is fine enough as is.

For Bullet's standard, this is gold. Still, it was some weak points here and there (especially the lyrics, which is nothing new, but still. Matt, you need to grow up man). They're on the right path to making something really special someday, and I will be there when they do. Good job this time guys

Besides some of the generic metalcore lyrics, the album is pretty solid for the most part, with better instrumentals and overall song qualities, this is a return for bullet.

Edit: Of course fans and fanboys alike are gonna eat this up, it is literally everything they have done over their career in one album, nothing of musical value here. Any of these songs could've easily been in their past albums.

Not as bad as the dogshit Temper Temper, not as good as their first three .However, the latter may simply because I'm not the angsty teen I was when listening to the older albums. Still some decent melodies and solos found here, though again, not as many as on their earlier records.

Some very good and catchy riffs and overall beginnings, then in EVERY SINGLE case I have to
facepalm when the refrain kicks in, HOW can they screw up such "solid" openings with emo autotune
"Dont listen to what other.. bla bla" crap?.. well had no hopes whatsoever and from what I read
about them they aren't known for being good anyways.
