Following her excellent 4 track EP, Californian singer-songwriter Ryn Weaver returns with more indie-leaning electro-pop on debut LP 'The Fool'. Stretching her versatility to extreme levels, Weaver's chameleon-like voice echoes the likes of Florence Welch, Fiona Apple, Lorde & Amy MacDonald. The same can be said of the slick production backing her, which adds everything from folk to glitch to her repertoire. As impressive as that all is, it feels a little too manufactured for a young artist still searching for her true sound. In the meantime, this album remains a fascinating - if flawed - listen. Recommended Tracks: Promises, Octahate, Traveling Song & The Fool.
