2.0 poor | EasterInTheBatcave | September 17th 16 | I like this more than Tool, and Tool are clearly an influence on these guys. This is a more eccentric, more varied, more interesting experience than Tool, marred only by bad production. Seriously, this production is so misguided that I can't ignore it. The vocals are way too loud, the guitars are so whining as to hurt my ears at points, the drums are buried... these songs often sound like demos. It's a shame, because there is greatness here; the production just stops it from being realized.

4.0 excellent | Xenorazr | July 5th 16 | A wide palette of progressive rock, offering much emotion up front and through the details. This is the kind of prog that keeps you on your toes more than it challenges you to keep up. Even the slow moments never descend into dull territory, allowing atmosphere to build when the band wants us to contemplate a little.

5.0 classic | Britch2tiger | July 1st 15 | After weening off of Feathergun, I began listening to this album. With enough hearings, I can hear all sorts of modifications the lead made to better his voice for Feathergun. Nonetheless, I believe this album to be their magnum opus as of yet. Assuming the flow of each song, I believe this to be a concept album, and damn-near perfect at that. Each song makes it's place noticed, and even the filler tracks make their place to have the listener aware of the "phases" of this album - personally my favorite phase is tracks 8-10. Even w/ the hidden track on the final song, I consider this album to be a classic alongside TOOL's Aenima.

4.0 excellent | Alex C. | March 12th 15 | Great disc, albeit too long - Demanding yet ultimately delivering.

4.5 superb | Jared Floryan | December 25th 14 | Employing a sickening progressive rock style which easily recalls A Perfect Circle - a band that included Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan at the forefront - Rishloo's Eidolon is a chariot of excellence far and away from becoming musically-challenged. The musicianship isn't nearly as lacking in color nor substance as one might suggest and this album contains a vocal performance fueled by an odd mixture of prettiness and deliberate naturality. This recording is an obstacle within a golden flower said to grant new life to any callous barbarians and curious wanderers.

4.0 excellent | IslamicPenguins | March 17th 13 | I can honestly say that this is one of the greatest vocal performances i've ever heard on an album. A few songs are perfect, a few suck, and the band sounds like Tool everywhere else

0.0 | FilthyBorgir | July 20th 11 | the perfect Tool rip-off. But yet they still have a continuing/constant original sound which drags the listener in with the half minute opener till the end.

3.5 great | Fugue | June 10th 09 | Eidolon is Seattle based progressive-rock band Rishloo's sophomore album, and it shows a definate progression from debut Terras Fames. By ditching many of the Tool-esque sounds that plagued Terras Fames, Rishloo have found their true identity and many of the ideas on the album feel fresh because of it. Lead single "Freaks and Animals" opens the album well and gives a good taste of whats to come, mainly a tight-knit bunch of musicians playing well structured music. If there is one negative it is that lead singer Andrew Mailloux tends to oversing his part and dominates over the less assertive instrumental performances, but in the end the positives far outweigh this.

4.5 superb | Devils471 | August 3rd 07 | Awesome album from top to bottom. Any fans of Tool or A Perfect Circle who are looking to get into some more progressive stuff should definitely checks these guys out. "Eidolon Alpha", "Pandora", and "Omega" are best the tracks.
