Killswitch Engage is like the Amon Amarth of metalcore. They always put out consistently good music without changing their sound much. This album is nothing different, with a ton of a great tracks that throwback to AOJB.

I'm not a Killswitch Engage fan. I'm a fan of 'Alive or Just Breathing' and 'Disarm the Descent' because of Jesse's vocals and the heavier musical direction. Their crooning, melodic stuff with the other guy bores me to death. Musically, that's basically what they've gone back to except with Jesse on vocals. He helps make this listenable, but not nearly as good as the other two releases that he has sang on.

The song Triumph Through Tragedy has some incredible, new lows that are incredible. Very similar to their old stuff, while still having the Disarm The Descent instrumentation. If you look past the fact that they don't change much sound, it is a very solid album. Great lyricism included in every song.

A huge return to form for this band, despite not much innovation and a few lackluster tracks. It's like if Alive or Just Breathing and As Daylight Dies had a baby.

At this point you either love this band or hate them. If you like them you will probably like this album even though they don't do anything different on this record other than Jesse trying out new vocal techniques. If you hate them then this will add more fuel to the fire.

Another Killswitch ass Killswitch album. Solid nonetheless. Being the first album that Jesse has fully worked on since rejoining there's a twinge of Times of Grace. And that's okay by me.

Do you like curveballs? No? Good. Incarnate is exactly what you'd expect (and hopefully want) after Disarm the Descent. Is it fresh? Only so long as you consider that period between The End of Heartache and Killswitch Engage (II).

It's a Killswitch album. If you've liked everything else Killswitch has done and you aren't sick of it yet, you'll enjoy this! If you've never been a fan, or if you're sick of their sound, you won't. I'm somewhere in the middle, but this is still pretty enjoyable.
