2.5 average | Jared Floryan | October 12th 14 | People don't seem to keep in mind that Xero was a demo; granted, not a perfectly established one, but it is what it is. The only two gripes I have with this are the awful production values and Mark Wakefield's vocals: he's not necessarily terrible, yet the dude simply lacks energy. Beyond these flaws, this offering does make for a slightly intriguing listen. If you despise Chester "CRAAAAAWLING IIIIIN MY SKIIIIIIN!!!" Bennington's guts, then maybe you might appreciate this little by little... or perhaps no.

2.0 poor | YRI | November 20th 19 | If you look over the production, which is the best Linkin Park could do at the time, Xero features some solid unheard tracks like Reading My Eyes and Stick N Move, and of course the first version of Forgotten. The songs do sound kind of unfinished and the horrible production has to be taken into account. While Mark Wakefield isn't the best, he does kind of fit nicely into the whole album as a package. 5/10

0.0 | Have you tried jamming Helcaraxe? CONTRIBUTOR | July 28th 17 | These were really odd times for Linkin Park. No real studio or even an ability to decently produce an album by themselves, but still a very admirable ability to create something unique. It's a very melancholic ep with influences pulled in from various sources that they still somehow manage to form into a nu-metal package. Unfortunately this is ruined by incredibly excessive static and an underdeveloped vocalist (not Chester Bennington, btw).

1.5 very poor | TPM731 | March 6th 14 | Nonexistent production, unrefined performances, and a rather unenthusiastic vocalist make Xero a rather unrewarding listening experience.
