Ominous atmospheric BM with some sludge touches. These guys are in the end not very original, and I still prefer Tekeli-Li, but they really captured the bleak grandeur of Lovecraft's work.

Not as natural, sounds more compressed as compared to the phenomenal Tekeli-Li. Which isn't to say it's a bad album, it's just not *as* good. Same post-black atmospheric Lovecraftian metal, just with production values that aren't as nice.

I love how this album can take something like silly, yet interesting horror stories and just turn them into an absolute monster of an album. There's a sense of horrific atmosphere in every single moment of the album. Whether it's the acoustic or grandeur parts of the album, you still feel inside the story. Definitely a contender for AOTY btw.
