I'm always up for ambient music that doesn't just explore one emotion, but plenty of excellent ambient records only really have one vibe. No Home Of The Mind is quite two-dimensional in its emotions; either an optimistic wondering or a melancholy reminiscence. The way it gets there is more or less the same for both; very minimal, loose piano with strings and drones to accompany, spread out over five minutes. Relaxing, if inconsequential, Bing & Ruth plays it pretty close to the vest here, and though it does result in some lovely moments and an overarching beautiful atmosphere, it really isn't anything all that special. Still, if you're looking for some study music or something to relax to, this record can't do you any harm at all.
