1.0 awful | bobafe6604 | September 26th 08 | Fans of Metro Station should watch out for my fist.. we tend to meet each other quite often. Just when you thought "the Man" had done everything to brainwash perfectly good children into mindless sex-crazed robots, well you'd be wrong once again. This album is a glaring example of a group of people who don't give a flying fuck about music, yet make it; they're in it for A) more money B) more sluts C) fame (which they may achieve now but will ultimately be lauded in the end). Fuck Metro Station. And All the Cyrus'. They're the new American cancer.

1.5 very poor | DaveyBoy EMERITUS | February 5th 10 | The fact that the annoyingly catchy electro-pop of 'Shake It' could be the best song on Metro Station's self-titled debut LP says it all. 31 minutes of simplistic lyrics aimed at teenage girls, it is more an exercise in trying to be cool. The guitar-work is non-existent, while the band struggle with any variety. The vocals are the main issue however, with even the ok tracks ruined by an awful & embarrassing verse or bridge. Take the one step forward/two steps back of 'Now That We're Done', whose decent synths & break-up lyrics are undone by ill-fitting vocals & a ludicrous "everybody get down" refrain. Recommended Tracks: Shake It & Now That We're Done.

1.0 awful | SpencerMorrissette | August 8th 08 | Wow I've never heard a band that was as bad as this one. Like I've said before these are the kids that grew up in high school who could play there instruments but had no originality or creativity just thought that simple chords annoying high pitched disco keyboard riffs and lyrics about Kelsey were really cool.

1.5 very poor | figurehead of "built different" EMERITUS | February 26th 19 | This plasticized, sleazy rubbish would be a 1 if there wasn't a tiny part of my idiot lizard brain that didn't still think "Shake It" was absurdly fun and catchy after all these years

2.0 poor | 3waycrash | February 27th 16 | I recognize this is very cheesy electro pop aimed toward teenage girls, but whatever. It's catchy and I still sort of enjoy it as a guilty pleasure. I recognize it's not all that great, but honestly it's not that bad either.

1.0 awful | BlueandOrange | October 26th 15 | There are bands who make one hit wonders and those that make one hit blunders. The musical equivalent of filling your ears with sugar.

1.5 very poor | Jared Floryan | November 14th 14 | If a staring contest were to break out between Metro Station and the creator of the bubonic plague, then I would place my worthless bets on the latter. Yet another example of the whole lesser of two evils predicament, and what have you.

0.0 | LaughingMan | June 21st 11 | Yet another in a long line of "edgy" yet radio-friendly electronic-pop acts for teenage girls. These guys are just as forgettable as your Cobra Starships and 3OH!3's, except even more annoying because of that god-awful overplayed single that was on every radio and in every movie trailer you could find.
I had the displeasure of being dragged along to see these guys live a couple years ago, and though I knew they were awful, I hoped that maybe, juuust maybe, they'd at least put on a fun show.
...yeah, they're just as fricking unbearable live as they are on record.

2.0 poor | samkos | July 20th 10 | After doing my research and listening to the CD, i cant help but realize that the bands first tracks in the album are the semi hit sub par type, the type you hear on the radio sometimes and think, ehh. Or the kind thats not quite top 20 material. But as the album grows on so does your agitation. The last songs are a excuse to finish the album and make it full length. Its like when they ran out of ideas they gave Hannah Montana the idea of finishing the Album. 'Nuff said.
The bands creators Mason and Trace met on the set of the Disney channel fave, Hannah Montana (they are the siblings of B-listers Mitchell Musso and Miley Cyrus) and apparently hit it off, and found two other semi emo looking dudes to help create a little band. This band is classic B-List. Throw in some sparkly guitars and man lets go! So they made a album, had a tour, got some tatoos together, and did some other B-list guy stuff. So where are they now? They've already broken up. So they're kinda like a 4 semi hit wonder I guess. Sigh, how many electro-emo-disneyish-b list-pop bands do you know that have made it past the four hit semi hit wonder stage anyways. Other than the Jonas Brothers.
The lead man, Trace comes across as this hardcore kinda guy with tatoos and skinny jeans but hes playing well, sappy power chord filled love songs that manages to get some peoples feet tapping. Not mine, Mr. Cyrus. And I hope not many others.
I must admit though, the song Shake It, the largest hit off the album did do me in and I thought was OK. I figured it could sneak into the top 20 without someone throwing a hissy fit.
But if any other of there songs did, I'll be the first to hissy, dont you forget.
The verdict: my guess for why the band broke up? lack of fan base. and maybe Hannah didnt like sharing the spotlight.

3.0 good | zacxriot | March 15th 10 | Metro Station to me, apparently not many other people here, is overall a good album and decent band. Sometimes I think people here vote based on the reviews they read, but personally I think this album is pretty well put together. The synth and rhythm fit very well together and their lyrics are at least 5 times better than some of the shit the poser alternative bands are putting out these days. They are by no means worth an obsession but they aren't the worst music being put out these days.

1.0 awful | LostLikeTearsInRain | June 25th 09 | "Skake It" is possibly one of the worst songs ever recorded. It has this effect on me where by everytime I hear it, I want to stab myself in the ears repeatedly with a sharp instrument and then jump off a nearby bridge.

1.0 awful | HeidiH2260 | January 9th 09 | "Shake It" is one of the worst most worse over played disaster of a song I've ever heard. This band sounds like whiney little boys going through puberty. Surely not one of my favorites at all.

1.5 very poor | AlexTM510 | December 18th 08 | Is it catchy? some songs yes. But that's as far as any music listener will go for to enjoying this garbage. The basis of the problem with this album (as stated countless times) is how the album functions more like a "product" than actual "art." These vocalists try too hard to sound as cool as they can with those god awful whisper-me-sex vocals. And because of this just about all the songs fall flat on their face. Also note to the complete contradicting lyrics ("Seventeen Forever", "Wish Were Older.")
The album does have it's decent moments. The chorus to Seventeen Forever is quite catchy, same as Control. "Shake It" is probably the best one here with fun get-go dance groove. However most of the lyrics are plagued with being so amateurish and at times lol bad funny. Of course the Cyrus lovers (im being way too nice using that term) would slobber allover this album. As for the rest of us......will just keeping cringing (and laughing).
Tbh this album makes Katy Perry look elite.

3.0 good | sharksinyamouth | December 18th 08 | 6604 shuld shut the eff up. By saying, "Fans of Metro Station should watch out for my fist.. we tend to meet each other quite often." You've made the impression that you're a dumbass. You want to hit people because they like a band that you don't. Your heaps tough aye. Fair enough if you think it is a bad album and you want to express that, don't get me wrong, I'm cool with that. But why present yourself in that way. You sound like a tool.
I actually heard the song, Shake It, before most people would have as I accidently stumbled across Metro Station's myspace a while back. I thought it was a good song until it was played 24/7 on radios and music channels. I then hated it. They have a new song, Seventeen Forever, which is quite catchy. This led me to their album. All in all it is a fun album for fans of electronica / synthpop. As much as I hate Miley Cyrus / Hannah Montana, this album proves to be good in my standard.

2.0 poor | porkchop182 | September 5th 08 | This band is typical of any 13 year old girls cd collection. Pop friendly songs and lyrics that their innocent minds wouldnt understand the true meaning of.
Some of the songs on this record and worth a listen, Kelsey and Seventeen Forever both are decent songs. This record is dominated however by songs that never really catch on and are repeatitive and dull.
A poor album from a band with not very much prospect.

5.0 classic | xPoeticxTragedyx | August 15th 08 | I found this band to be very refreshing and new compared to alot of things I've been hearing lately. Their catchy techno choruses and great voices have definitely gotten them very far. Their music is just so good and you can't help but to listen to it over and over again. No the lyrics aren't exactly the most meaningful stuff ever written it's still not as bad as a certain someone (Cough) Katy Perry (Cough). All in all this is a great band with a great techno cd however if you don't like techno you will NOT find this cd very enjoyable.
