With Some Blood, Off Minor have perfected their trade so much that its astounding how much they were able to fit into this twenty two minute LP. Drawing mostly from their previous record Innominate, but with enough fresh ideas and slightly reminiscent parts from the days of Heat Death of the Universe to make a fanboy cream his pants, Some Blood ups the ante on the technicality Off Minor have previously shown, with Behar's jazz influenced guitar playing and Roche's surprisingly improved bass work and tone pushing Off Minor to the limit of what they can do. While the rest of the album may be overshadowed by "Practice Absence" a bit, every song here is an astounding portrayal of the chaotic blend of screamo, hardcore and math rock that one would expect and anticipate from one of the true innovators in the genre.

Remember last year when Hot Cross released Risk Revival, a collection of their most technical/least passionate songs to date. Well I'm sure Off Minor took note of what had happened to their fallen comrades and decided it was best for them to stay true to themselves and not release anything to ambitious like a release topping 30 minutes. Some Blood keeps it short and sweet with 6 songs that add up to 22 minutes and one 8 minute track that could be considered the best song of Off Minor's career. If they do break up after this as many have speculated, at least they did it in style.

Practice Absence is just the perfect closer for this album and for Off Minor. At the end off all things....That build-up reminds me of Good Morning captain -> I miss You.

All hell breaks loose on Earth right when Arcadia makes room for savoir faire. You could say that Some Blood's determined aggression symbolize the current state our realm is in, and people should make no mistake that the album's sense of worldliness represents a more purified version of Earth itself. Let me get past the nonsense I tend to utter with this following statement: Off Minor was another one of those bands who clearly did the subgenre known as screamo swift justice.

Some Blood comes to rip your face off with crazy basslines, choppy riffs, grinding percussion and pissed off vocals, and thats what it does in under 25 minutes.
But what makes this album great is its diversity shown in Practice Absence, which overshadow's the rest of the album. While the first 14 minutes doesn't do much to set this record apart from their previous beasts, Innominate & Heat Death of the Universe, Practice Absense (which covers over one third of the album) saves the day with unisex vocals (yes acual singing) and an epic build up.
