All Shall Perish work with a concise, yet undeniably deathcore sound invigorated by a wide range of melody and some rather potent songwriting throughout Awaken the Dreamers. If you're not enjoying this because of Eddie Hermida's vocal performance - which is otherwise on point - then listeners will apparently get genocidal erections just from Chris Storey's well-done guitar shredding.

I don't see why people keep knocking this abum, the lead work by Chris Storey is INSANE!!! Who cares if the lyrics suck or if the rhythm guitar is kind of simple and repetitive, are you not listening to the amazing Shreddage?? Check this album out, but only if you like epic, technical shredding

If only this album were 10 (or more) minutes longer. Thirty-five minutes flies by when I listen to this great album. All Shall Perish's best in my opinion. Technical, brutal, beautiful.

I loved the title track. When I first heard ASP I thought they had a good sound to them, but the sound gets stale after awhile because the songs don't vary much as the album progresses. It sounds very repetitive.

I agree that Deathcore is a genre overloaded with sub-par bands, but the reason those bands suck, is because they either just ride the bland-wagon, or they try too hard to stand out and create a clusterfuck of tracks lacking melody and cohesion. A lot of bands get shit-canned for putting out a sophomore or junior effort that doesn't see the band progressing any, only to get the same response when they try to do something new and innovative. I enjoy both Price of Existence and Awaken the Dreamers, and think All Shall Perish managed to do something many bands fail at; keep it fresh without alienating previous listeners. Awaken the Dreamers may not stand out 20 years down the road, but as far as my opinion is concerned, this is one of the best heavy albums released this decade. I would just hate for this to be a group of critique favoring guys that try to release an album to please everyone, only to have it end in disaster.

diversity is what i found amazing in this album! i like the little change up in every now and then, i understand when they said they wanted to change the sound a bit i did a great job doing it, so close in giving this a 5 but i didnt like the whispering in this album kinda random:[

I don't understand how anyone could give this album such a low score...
this is a great album full of diversity and all executed nearly perfectly, songwriting is amazing,
there is death metal, deathcore, instrumental, and even soft jazzy rock like Opeth on one track
listen to this again, maybe it takes more than one listen to realize it, but i guarantee this is at least a 4 out of 5
