3.0 good | Brandon Scott EMERITUS | March 4th 20 | I finally gave this album a listen and it's very interesting. The more melodious, soaring moments definitely cause my heart to flutter, but the implementation of EDM elements is not done quite as well as it could be, at least in terms of production. Coming up with a dance-y melody really isn't enough to sell electronic music, there needs to be layers and depth of sound. The EDM sections throughout this feel too thin, and amateurish. The potential is in plain view, but the execution to match it isn't quite there yet. Anyway, this is still very solid, and as always, it's nice to see musicians continue to push the boundaries of black metal.

4.0 excellent | JakeStallion | March 3rd 20 | Must?ve jammed this almost a dozen times over the last day and a half. I absolutely love
everything else Violet Cold has done, but this has to be my favorite album so far. Can?t get
enough of this thing.
Edit: Grown off me a teeny tiny bit and I think in hindsight I still prefer kOsmik, but this is
still very good.

4.0 excellent | SuzyC | March 1st 20 | Listened 4x already today. Sounds like VC, but with some added surprises. Mr. Guliyev had added some of his early experiments to the mix, with wonderful results. My rating may go higher with time...

3.7 great | Trey STAFF | January 13th 23 | Let me start with the one real complaint I have. The production doesn't do this album any favors. There's so many elements in this album, and there's just not enough separation to appreciate them all. Everything just feels piled on the dead center of the mix with nothing able to truly stand out. Maybe that was intentional, but I'm not a fan. It's a shame because I think this could have been top 5 with a better sound. As it stands, the quirky blend of post black metal and electro-pop is really unique, even if the quirkiness sometimes veers to the very edge (like the Chipmunk vocals on 'Synergy').

3.2 good | Erwann S. STAFF | December 10th 20 | Ok, so. From an idea point of view, this is superb. One-person band Violet Cold seems like they want to push the envelope by mixing blackgaze and EDM together. When it works, like on opener "Noir Kid", it's properly amazing. When it doesn't though, oh boy. On "Synergy", some vocals a la, idk, fucking Chipmunk come in on top of the blackgaze aesthetic, before guttural growls enter the stage. The idea is great, but it does not sound good. Let's just hope the dude will continue with this direction, a refined project that tackles the same ideas would be breaking sput.
