To balance the 1 and 5 (lol). It's their comeback album, it'll be hype no matter how the music turns out. One could make the argument that this band shouldn't be here now, I'll just enjoy it when it comes. I can't wait.

At first I felt a little underwhelmed by this release, because despite everythign the band had gone through at that point, it felt like a safe release and I was expecting a little more. However, after listening to the 1333 Days podcast detailing the band's accident and return to form, it's hard not to see the album in a new light and appreciate the fact it exists to begin with.

One hell of a story and I'm beyond glad that they're back, but that alone does not mean this record is a 4+. You'd be crazy to just toss AOTY contender status at this, just for that reason alone. Let's be real, its just another TGI record. Same riffs, same lyrical content, same drum fills, same mid-ranged screams and breakdowns. Its TGI and its good, but its not a fuckin 5.0

Melodeez are back. Some tracks, like "Still Alive" and its clean guitar riffing reminded me why I loved that band when I was 16 (big oof time), but yeah apart from these sweet guitar lines it's pretty standard chuggy chug chug YEAH BRO breakdownz tank tops snapback, with some not-so-gud clean vocals. Yup, I'm not 16 anymore but I love the melodeez, and I'm glad they released another record after the tragedy. Bravo for their perseverance.
