A fantastic album with an even better price tag, a bit long but this is definitely one of my favs.

My buddy's been trying to get me into this band for quite some time, and I would give it my all but nothing really stuck. I decided with the release of their newest disc that I would once again give them an honest go. This time, everything finally clicked into place, and I heard what I had been missing for the past few years. This really is a great place to start with this band, as this record feels the most accessible. Maudlin is not for the musically faint at heart, but they are definitely worth your time if you can give them some of yours.

maudlin of the Well manages to create another fantastic album, with plenty of complex instrumental arrangements. Strings are very prominent here, and they just add to the overall quality of the tunes.

While most of the metal elements that maudlin are most know for are pushed to the side here, Driver and company still manage to create a superb record. Even with the shift of sound leaning more towards progressive/ avant-garde rock, Part the Second sounds undeniably like a maudlin of the Well album.

Probably their best album. So beautiful, a true gem, an inspired and inspiring masterpiece, so visionary, it seems like it comes from the future. A year has passed since the release of "Part The Second", and I'm still not sick of it. Never get's old, there is always after every listen something you haven't noticed before. This amazing dogma must be listened to any prog or even rock fan, and remember to keep your mind open.

Brilliant album though. Not quite bath, mind you but I reckon better than Leaving Your Body Map.

Album is really really good. But a little less first half "Heaven And Weak", a little more second half "Heaven And Weak" next time dudes. Not to say it isn't great - it most certainly is - but one of the best attributes of motW was how they juxtaposed crushingly heavy sections with absolutely beautiful passages in the blink of an eye. The record is quite pretty but I want some fug in there too.
