Trades in faggy owl screeches for haunting cum druzzling vocals which make you cum. Overall the album rules, and is defintley a grower like my male organ of copulation.

So this album has the elements of a black metal album, so what makes it not chomp choads like other black metal albums? No gay faggy owl screeches in this. Which technically I guess makes it not black metal but if you want to split hairs I'll fucking bust a nut right onto your face.

Nature-obsessed and forever softly mumbling, this solemn noise-tinged epic throws you in the bottom of the desolate icy canyon where Elverum apparently takes up residence. It's a challenging journey - the early-on turtles-pace dronefest of track 2, nothing overtly tuneful until track 8, the contrast of dissonant and hushed - but the apocalyptic atmosphere and unflinching, distinct vision go a long way.

Phil went crazy, and skuzzed up his already skuzzy music with heaps and heaps of 'metal'. 'Wind's Poem' proves that Elvrum is an extremely talented musician (duh...) and that genre hopping, as it always has been, is quite easy for him. Sadly though, 'Wind's Poem' delivers significantly less than the sum of it's parts. He seems to sacrifice his superior songwriting talent to fit genre conventions that he's less than adept at recreating. While about as easy to swallow as any of his albums, 'Wind's Poem' lacks that essential aftertaste that gave all his previous work it's legs. This bitch stumbles right out the gate and struggles to keep it together throughout the duration.
