The Red Chord stray further and further away from their hardcore/metalcore influences and take the sounds developed on Prey For Eyes in an even faster, more death metal-influenced direction. The band, despite losing a second guitar player, still sounds as menacing as always, introducing groove in songs like "Hymns and Crippled Anthems" and loads of melody in "Hour of Rats" and "Mouthful of Precious Stones", while still maintaining loads of breakdowns and ugly, dissonant leads that The Red Chord has become known so well for. One of the most badass records of 2009.

This is just mega generic to my ears. I liked what I've heard of their 2002 album, so I got this cos the album art is cool, and I've seen positive feedback on this... But to me, this just sucks. This is the kind of deathcore that everyone avoids for good reason. Boring songwriting, near no dynamics, monotonous vocals, flat and lifeless production. Nothing redeems itself for me on this album.

Of all the metal records this year, this one stands near the top. Unrivaled brutality mixed with a vast multitude of colorful and original riffs, accompanied by machine gun grind drumming. This album is the epitome of the entertainment and has an extremely high replay value. This is a must get for any death metal/grind/deathcore fan. The best that The Red Chord has put out yet, a step forward in originality. Fantastic.

Ahhh.... what a shame. To think I was looking forward to this album all year, only to have TRC drop this pile of turd on me.
Definitely their worst effort, with some slightly muddy production to boot. I'll probably get flamed by the drones of 18yr old kids who drool over anything this band does, but I couldn't care less.
Fused sucked shit as a whole, but was a decent debut. Clients fucking absolutely ruled and is their best record. Prey For Eyes was good, but nothing special.... and this one continues the trend of slightly worsening output from this once highly regarded young band. Hopefully they pull their head out of their respective assholes for the next record otherwise they've lost a fan (of which I'm sure they don't care).
Oh well, at least Misery Index is still around, I know I can count on them to deliver on this style.
P.S. - LOL @ all the scores of 4+... give your heads a shake! This is a 3.5 at best!!

After a few listens I'm giving this a "great". I'm sure once I've listened to it enough my rating will go up. F'n love this band! I don't think they'll ever release anything like Fused Together ever again, but they have a sound now thats unrelentless that they didn't have back then. Either way, both styles are awesome.
