So much better than the first release; at first glance you can't tell but the drum production is way better and the vocals is a fresh breath of air. Finally these guys got some awesome production to an awesome cd....but when's the next LP coming out!?!

Deathcore that possesses this much passion, replay value and care never ceases to bring a smile to my face. After the Burial do have an air of technicality about them to balance out their melodic and aggressive moments, and yet they aren't really technical for the sake of it. If that was the case, Rareform would be a contrived, brainless collection of songs, but the overall album isn't. Many of these tracks that make up this record are headbang-worthy and entertaining enough to grow on the listener as months and years go by, and the production values are never too distracting. Rareform is an instrumentally amusing demon who invites just about anyone in as long as they're able to withstand the junz - for lack of a better, less puerile word. This is a sound-off that was dedicated to rhythm guitarist Justin Lowe.

A huge improvement on the initial release, the new vocalist is far better than his predecessor. The kick drum no
longer sounds like a tin can and doesn't have that annoying click from the first release of Rareform. The production
is generally 100% sharper, a problem with the first record was the poor production and overall helps make this into
the album I wanted to hear. I would recommend.

Rareform is After The Burial at their best. It's fast, melodic, catchy, sometimes brutal, but always heavy. This is their strongest and best album to date and one that I could listen to for hours on end. The re-release in particular is my favorite rendition of this album, fixing issues such as the production and terrible vocals that made the original almost unlistenable. One of the finest albums and bands in the "djent" movement. 10/10

While this album can be very breakdown heavy, the band still maintains a sound that does not get extremely old. All the breakdowns are fairly interesting and pretty heavy. Aside from that, the music as a whole seemed original and once again, was enjoyable, especially for a djent album.

Holy crap, I love Ometh. The technicality displayed on this album is very reformed, and the rerecording with the new vocalist and drummer are a way better addition; I hope I'm not the only one who couldn't stand original Rareform's vocals and drums.

As strange as it may seem, we finally have production value that lives up to the value of the band with this re-release plus a new and capable vocalist. On the outside, this may seem like a young Meshuggah wannabe, with all the repetition of poly-rhythmic chugging. However, what really brings this album to life are the guitar leads. All of them have this uplifting sound to them to balance out the harshness coming from the rhythm section. It really helps to create an original album in a sea of stale.

This CD is essentially just one long, polyrhythmic breakdown with a painfully average vocalist providing painfully emotionless vocals over top of it. I heard Aspirations on their myspace and surprisingly it was a pretty good song and I thought this CD had potential to be at least decent. That was easily the only song I found mildly interesting on the entire thing. This band clearly doesn't understand that there is a difference between technicality and good music. They could've come up with the strangest, most difficult rhythm ever written and it wouldn't have saved any of these songs from being flat and boring as hell. Aside from a couple decent solos and leads, the CD is just a mound of unmemorable polyrhythms and waaay too many breakdowns. Average simply for the degree of technicality involved.

The band has still not had a competent vocalist, the guy on this one is completely flat and just doesn't have any redeemable qualities to his voice, he does not fit this band's sound at all either. On the instrumental side, it's definitely a more natural sounding album. The hooks in Berserker and Cursing Akhenaten remain highlights, also the lead in Aspiration rules.
