IT is Rolls Royce of Dissonant Avantgarde Jazzy Death/Black Metal
ominous, dissonant, urban, dark, disturbing, surreal, technical, avant-garde, chaotic, dense, atonal, unusual time signatures, eclectic, male vocals, angst, complex, apocalyptic, heavy, hellish, progressive, atmospheric, manic, mysterious, nocturnal , an aggressive, noisy, mysterious, creepy, misanthropic, abstract, pessimistic, alienated, suspenseful... and surprising album?
Not so with IT, with their fifth full-length album (less than 55 minutes of misanthropy and current dystopian lyrics) they only confirm their leading position in the current world of avant-garde metal, again in perfect form straight from the craziest human anthill that never sleeps.

Sounds like the soundtrack of an old occult satanic movie. Different than its predecessor which shows what this band is capable of. Great listen.

A really great record and this score is more of a comparison to their other recent releases. Imperial Triumphant continue with their avant metal jazz indulgence and at this point have carved out an amazing signature sound. This record just doesn't have the same highs and lows (thinking Swarming Opulence vs. Lower Worlds) and is a but more murky than the last two. Still a must listen to band in metal right now as they are the only ones making music like this. PS. their drummer is the best at what he does at the moment.

Imperial Triumphant continue with their trademarked blend of dissodeath and Zornesque orchestrations in an always-claustrophobic release that, while not as immediately rewarding as Alphaville, still manages to pull out impressive moments - "Merkurius Gilded" being exactly what I expect from this band. Not all tracks land as well, but Spirit of Ecstasy nevertheless cements the band's place among the top dissodeath dawgs.

Still, one of the coolest and most unique black metal bands out there because they are able to fully fuse the blistering and haunting death metal backdrop with some wild and free avant-garde jazz passages. The new album is just as intense as the last, but they are really shining in the experimentation of other elements like electrons and saxophone.

I'm a big fan of Alphaville, totally blew my mind and City Swine that tone tho. Now, I'm kinda dissapointed of new release, maybe it was rushed. IDK it's still good, 2 closing minutes of track number 3 Tower of Glory, City of Shame is stellar.
