Really awesome, uncommon mix of elements from the prog wizard known as "Chimp Spanner".

This album may have been groundbreaking when it was first released, but over the years, other bands in the same genre have surpassed its quality. The melodic writing seems amateurish, and the sound design sounds like it could be heard in an arcade (I wish I was joking). In comparison, bands such as Wide Eyes and Modern Day Babylon have improved upon this issue by leaps and bounds with their convincing approaches to melodic writing, something that cannot be said for this album.

Mind-blowing album, the amount of effort put into every track and the way they all flow together leaves me speechless with every listen! Although Chimp Spanner is recognized as a djent band because of their under-lying groove and Meshuggah style odd time signatures, they are alot more progressive. It is because of the progressive, well articulated playing that the album is more then just another djent release, it is a masterpiece! At The Dream's Edge is un-disputably one of the top five metal releases, if not one of the top five releases of 2010.
