3.0 good | peartnoy | March 30th 24 | While I definitely miss the Brainwashed days, going into this with the intention to judge it on its own terms is definitely required. It's definitely not perfect, and not even particularly well executed for the most part, but it's creative and interesting in more than a few spots. The guitar writing and arrangements in particular definitely shine on songs like To The Flowers and Self Hell, even if the overall songs take bold detours. You can definitely feel that the band were inspired through most of this, even if a lot of the songwriting is questionable at best and the lyrics mostly do not hit. r

1.5 very poor | SaiseiTunes CONTRIBUTOR | March 29th 24 | "You don't know my secrets cos I'm not a gemini" might take the cake for one of the worst fucking
lyrics I've heard in my life
Edit: Having finished the album, I'm not sure if they wanted this to be a parody of metalcore?
It's bad. Like, comically bad.

1.5 very poor | Your #1 Most Loved Semiaquatic, Egg-Laying Mammal | April 16th 24 | By far their worst album yet, and one of the worst metalcore albums I've heard over the last few years. I don't understand how they nosedived so quickly, but this was genuinely hard to finish listening to.

0.0 | branm25 | March 29th 24 | How did this band fall off so hard. Their first 3 albums are some of the best core music of that time period.

1.5 very poor | djentist8 | March 29th 24 | A thoroughly disheartening listen from a band capable of so much more. Insipid, rpassionless vocal hooks, and lyricism my 14 year old self would have found embarrassing, rboth permeate throughout the album, culminating in a set of tracks ranging from runremarkable to egregious and shameful. "Dopesick" and "Leave Me Alone" are the worst roffenders here, both incorporating misguided quasi-rap style vocals and lyrical passages rwhich leave much to be desired. The chorus of the latter is perhaps the most abject you rwill hear in metalcore in 2024. "To the Flowers" provides somewhat of a reprieve from the raforementioned misfires, however still pales compared to the Sheffield metallers' previous refforts. A really sorry state of affairs from a band which I, and many others in the UK rmetal scene, once heralded as a beacon of light during a time in the early 2010s where rquality and innovation were in scarce supply.
