I think to summarise this album for me is simple; that riff in 'A Hail Of Bombs' from 1:58 is really damn tasty - makes me nod my head every time I hear it. This album was instantly accessible for me, and yet it keeps growing every time I get through its 40 minutes of duration. really, really good stuff.

This shit is so groovy, it's got me tapping my foot and nodding my head each spin. A whole bunch of groove-cake with a post-rock icing. If there was a vote for best bass in a post-rock album, you would have to expect this to be up there.

This is what the last Pelican album should have been. Red Sparowes have crafted their best
work to date making a record that is atmospheric yet energetic, dark but uplifting, free
flowing and most of all, beautiful. Honestly I have never been impressed with anything Red
Sparowes have done in the past, but the band has managed to blow away the little
expectations I had for this album. If you think The Fire In Our Throats... is a good
album take one listen to this and rethink your decision.
