This band comes off a lot less serious than their composing skills. There are a lot of really well thought out structures and cool riffs on here, even if they are grouped with crude, strange and humourous lyrics. Black and Gass are a fresh music/comedy team that seem to only get better with every release they put out.

Tribute and Wonderboy are two of Tenacious D's best, hands down, and here they are back to back. You've got to love that. Some of the lyrics on this album are so good they've stuck with me, becoming a part of me, prompting me to some really inappropriate things at times (this is especially true of Kielbasa and F*** Her Gently.) The skits are hit and miss, and you have to be in the mood for this, but overall, this is, IMO, the best of Tenacious D even to this day.

How convenient that my rating for this album just happened to be my 69th album rating. No it was not intentional... It just happened that way :D
This album is funny as hell; not going to lie. Musically, it's decent at best. Some great metal moments seem to tease the listener here and there but never do anything truly substantial. The skits are all very funny and keep the listener excited throughout the album. The reason this isn't a 3 is because the band complects the comedy and the music so well throughout the album that the listener's attention is held very well, but it's not a 4 because musically, it's lacking in quality substance. Still a very fun listen though.

Jack Black is one funny bitch. His 'brother' Kyle Gass is a bit goofy, but nowhere near Jack Black. This album however is a drag for the most part. There is alot of rehashed songs from the short lived television show, but there are also some newer ones. The songs have some good depth provided Dave Growl on drums. But what makes this album a drag is the skits. This doesnt flow at all. I'm not saying some of the skits aren't funny. Inward Singing and One Note Song are actually pretty funny. Just it doesnt flow, since only half the tracks are songs. But its a decent pick up for anyone who is looking for a good laugh, with an open mind.
