Album of the year. Hands down. These guys are probably what I want the most : Ambient/Spheric Riffs, Concept, Complex Riffs, Great Production and Vocals from Hell. You won't be dissapoint with this!

It would be impossible for me to rate this after only one listen, but this album is absolutely packed with "Holy Shit" moments and sounds to be something truly exemplary.

So this is what "evil" djent sounds like. While they use the same overdone ambient delay/reverb laden clean rguitars that we have heard on countless releases this year, it seems that this type of ambient metal was made rfor this dark, unsettling sound. This is some of the creepiest music I have ever heard.

A Djent album that manages to stand apart in a genre full of generic Meshuggah worshippers. Blending haunting ambience with dissonant grooves and psychopathic dual vocals 'Masstaden' treads through darker waters than most Djent and is all the better for it. Even if you are put off by the idea of Djent this is still an album worth listening to.

I know some people hate seeing the terms "Meshuggah" and "djent" in every review of a band that sounds like this, but fuck 'em, Vildhjarta is like Meshuggah on shrooms, and one of the most original djent bands out there.

A very decent Meshuggah clone which breaks the trend of melody-oriented djent bands. And pulls it off pretty decently.

While most bands in the djent genre are bad ripoffs of Meshuggah, Vildhjarta create
interesting atmospheres along with original and exciting riffs to make an impressive debut
album. Expect greater things from this band in the future.

This is really good. One of the few bands in the whole djent movement who remember that metal is supposed to be brutal, and not just downtuned. That said the album overstays its welcome and the songs don't differentiate themselves enough.

Hands down to the best album in the year.rIt's so brutal you will fall from your chair headbanging not once. I prefer this to Meshuggah on so many levels. It seems they two are the only ones pioneering in the thall mathcore era. Shadow is my absolute favourite and Deceit would be without vocals. Nobody can do this so good.

Torn between clean "canyon reverb" interludes and overtly digitized riffs, Vildhjarta offer a well rounded debut, but only in chunks and pieces. There's nothing really bad about it, but there's nothing all that great either. The concept while intriguing isn't savoured by the countless allusions to a style which is aging much faster than its proponents.
