"Downhill" for me right now, but the more I listen to "DC" the more I like it.

Dark Charade could have been the winner. But with THAT solo, Downhill has to win.

Yea that solo is fuckin amazing

I think Downhill is more consistent than Dark Charade, even if the latter is more experimental.

I prefer Dark Charade as a whole but the second half of Downhill slays the climax of Dark Charade.

Still waiting for an official stream. Might be a while.

Still baffled at the decision to pair Salutations and Radio in the tracklist, even if I enjoy both songs.
To jump on the rank train, I think I'd go:
Dark Charade
Winslow
Landmines
Salutations
Dead Rope Machine
The Great Rain Beattle
Just a Ride
Radio

Radio's ending man... so good. It just loses points because it should have led into more.

I love that beautiful last minute though. I have no gripes with Radio and Salutations.

Radio's cut ending has to be read through the lyrics. They're cut as well, love that song.

"Through the land none of us ever walk at ease
I walk alone
I'm sorry I left without saying
I should have said..."
Dayummm, you right.

Rules even tho it lacks any moments that reach the height of FUCK YOU YOU FOOL

I need to hear this.

Yea the "FUCK YOU YOU FOOL...BEG BEGGAR BEG" moment is definitely a top five moment.

I checked this out to see if it deserved its status as the supposedly best prog album of the year... I must say I'm quite disappointed here. Sure, the musicianship and production are great, but I just don't see what makes this so brilliant. It doesn't bring any new ideas to the already quite bland alternative prog scene in my opinion. But maybe that's just me.

It's got a superb atmosphere, the vocals are incredible, some awesome riffs, well written lyrics it just works. Yea it doesn't necessarily bring much new to the prog table but who said it had to?

theres not a lot left to bring to the overstuffed table of prog anywayz

There's plenty of bands that bring interesting new ideas to the prog genre in my opinion. For me, the genre basically survives because of the (occasionally) innovative stuff that comes out of the kscope label.
