hard to say, so far there’s a lot of diversity in sound, from the layered bluesy guitars of Every Little Heart, to the stripped back and raw delivery of the title track, to the beautifully fleshed out instrumentals of the opener Bless You, while still putting his classic fingerstyle guitar playing at the forefront. there’s some really enchanting intervals between guitar notes, probably courtesy of some nutty open tunings he’s using

i often want to listen to this album but the thought of having to start with Hotel Bar is almost overwhelming haha
but then once Hotel Bar is over I remember that Running Styles is even sadder and that this whole album is really just so fucking melancholic
not counting the fact that it was one of my most listened to albums of the pandemic years
