Jeez guys you really don't want invitations to my bday party...i guess the robot vocals can be seen as a gimmick but since i've never heard any other band try to use them so consistently, it doesn't feel that way...it's not like every early 90s progressive metal band was using them so they incorporated them into one song and didn't use them again...then i could see myself calling it a gimmick

Well, looking at this thread a great number of people dislike their use of the robot voice so by my definition it doesn't sound like a gimick...This Message Edited On 08.12.08

It's two very different things my friend and your argument doen't make sense no matter how many of your lackeys tell me to stop refting you...opeth did the female vocals to appeal and suit the new trend, cynic did not...both are gimmicks and since i like one and don't like the other doesnt change that...my comment before was just saying that my definition used doesn't make it a gimmick though others do

please don't spam this fine review with your personal grudges against me...

This album is really good when I'm listening to it, but nothing ever makes me want to listen to it.

excuse me, part after "kill your alien". this was probably my favorite song on the live in peoria dvd. And yes this is better than White Pony, imo, eventhough White Pony arouses me

The roadrunner demo that came right before this has some great versions of two of the songs on this. I find myself going back and forth between those and these. Can't wait for the new album.
