I think Fantano's hip-hop reviews are usually pretty good. I think he falters most when it comes to the metal/post-hardcore range. Like, his Coheed and Protest the Hero hate is always a dagger to the heart and he has been rather harsh on the last few Deafheaven albums lol

Also I do agree rap was a mistake, but in the Hayao Miyazaki sense: it got so polluted with garbage that it makes you question if the 50000 ear-torture rap albums were worth, say, 300 good rap albums.
Rap wasn’t always trash, but right now it is. Let’s face it.
