Martin van Drunnen and Patrick Mameli probably held a bit of a grudge from the time Chuck left a gig at the second song when someone threw beers at him, which occurred during the Spiritual Healing tour with Pestilence supporting. If you watch the show after that one on YouTube, you'll see that James Murphy actually isn't there, and Chuck is the only guitarist.

As for Kam Lee, the first vocalist of Mantas, he's known for being a stupid dickhead. Look no further than this beautiful interview.

From what I can tell, Chuck was constantly in arguments with people in the earlier phase of his career, but once Death went tech death with Human he mellowed out a lot and became the chill, open-minded, kitty shirt wearing guy people generally know him to be.

I want to like this album more but Chuck's voice is soooo screechy that I end up just switching to Symbolic, Human, or Leprosy.

Vocals on this are good imo, but SBG and Leprosy had best Death vocals by far.

fact is if chuck had not been taken so prematurely and continued down this path vocally they might have gotten sketchy. I'm not the biggest fan of them here but not to the point where they detract from the music
