Love this album but I’d be hard pressed not to call “Abysses” and “Solar Song” filler. Granted, “Abysses” is a pleasant enough interlude that neither adds nor detracts from the overall experience (though you can make a case it would be better sequenced as a comedown after the title tracks and to mark the midpoint of the album, or immediately before the closer, where it might better lead into that song’s more “watery” vibe compared to that of “Solar Song”), and “Solar Song” is a good song, but not nearly as good as the others.
