WACF had Everybody Wants Some, The Cradle Will Rock and Romeo Delight, all of which are better songs than about 90% of Hagar's entire output with the band

Lol even Hagar doesn't dispute that both Eddie and Alex are massive assholes, just look at how they treated Michael Anthony and himself. Considering Hagar's rep as a super nice guy and class act by everyone who knows him, you've gotta be a real prick to get him to talk shit. Hagar, Anthony and DLR have all said the same things about the VHs and the massive chips on their shoulders, doubt they're all just making it up.

Hagar has also said that DLR is an egotistical asshole. Nice try though. The question isn't whether their egotistical, it's who is the worst of the bunch.

Worst of the bunch is definitely Billie Eilish. I MEAN WHO TF DOES SHE THINK SHE IS?! Jokes.

Also, who tf cares which of the guys in a generally egotistical band has THE BIGGEST ego? They're all a bunch of assholes who made great music. Until one asshole left and a nicer asshole joined the band and the music quality dropped off a cliff.

I care because DLR fans will defend every stupid thing he does no matter what and it's irritating. They give Hagar so much unnecessary shit and because of that, us Hagar fans have to deal with DLR completely taking over the brand instead of getting the Hagar/Halen reunion we've been begging for. I disagree the quality dropped off a cliff, the music by Hagar was vastly better than with DLR. Not that DLR's time was bad though.

>the DLR guys

So 95% of their fans? I feel like you have to be an intentional contrarian to genuinely think the Hagar era was better lmao

Literally every Roth VH album stomps any of the Hagar albums, including this one. Come the fuck on. Van Hagar was stadium rock with gay keyboards and bad lyrics, their best material was basically poppy retreads of I'll Wait for 10 years straight

"basically poppy retreads of I'll Wait for 10 years straight"

I was going to get mad at you, and then I realised that you're actually right and my mind has been blown. Fuck, I love "Feels So Good" and just realised that it's basically I'll Wait in a major key. :o

Fuck you, Strizz. I hate you. Good thing I love "I'll Wait".

"gay keyboards"

The synth's are literally what made the band legends lol 1984 wouldn't nearly be as good without the synths. Facts.

Lol, why would you post this link when it disproves your point. Even by the dude's own subjective metrics Roth wins 3-2.

"The synth's are literally what made the band legends lol 1984 wouldn't nearly be as good without the synths. Facts."

Oh? So it wasn't the fact that Eddie Van Halen completely revolutionized the way rock guitarists played, which spawned thousands of bands and imitators based on just that alone and single-handedly created butt rock by accident? But yeah, it was the keyboards though 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 you're in denial homie, even back in the 80s it was a cultural meme that Van Halen sucked with Hagar lol

Just as many Van Halen fans justifiably said that the synths on 1984 were the band cashing in on cultural trends and selling out to what was popular at the time, which was further evidenced by the next 2-3 records that continued regurgitating that style, but ok

Was it a mere coincidence that the band's hardcore fans dropped off like flies and their album sales, relevance and popularity suffered tremendously after Hagar joined?

Hagar the Horrible.

Naah, he's not that bad. What he is, and always has been, is a square. Hagar joining VH coincided with them turning from a band so impossibly cool that they gave guitar nerds and party girls some common ground, to a band for minivan-driving moms and dads practically overnight.
