Idk I personally think the Voids version sounds more like the finalized one haha. New version is okay but it sounds rough.

Trespassers W on Voids is my preferred version but it's undeniable that the Sea of Worry version is far more polished, which is my problem with it. I prefer the rougher, demo take for the song. The deliberate lo-fi aesthetic on Voids, Deathconsciousness, Time of Land, and The Unnatural World is what I like the most from Have a Nice Life.

I want to like this a lot more as an album but it just feels slight to me. Five new songs, one of which is a drone, which okay... is cool, but I feel like these guys could've thrown that together in an hour. And then I'm cool with them re-recording Trespassers W and Destinos, but I just prefer the older versions. Trespassers is so clean sounding, after the intro I'm half expecting Hilary Duff to jump in. I'd be down for including them on a longer album, but this one is just too light on new material.

But the first three songs are fucking great. Interesting to read your thoughts on Science Beat, it's my easy favorite. A good balance of their older lo-fi sound with more pop sense imo.

for me destinos is the weakest track, it feels dragging and the monoclogue is so long.I am really linkingsea if worry and lords tho.

I do agree with this being pretty light on new material but the band was never super prolific to begin with so I guess I can't complain that much.

For those who were unfortunately disappointed by this album (including myself) you're in for a surprise. Dan's working on some new Black Wing and it sounds incredible. New album December 11th

Revisited this for the first time in a while. Enjoyed it even more (and it was already in my Top 20 of 2019). I think this is a small notch above The Unnatural World, actually.
