Shit that actually hurts. I feel for Wolf and all the drama he has to face with fans who won’t shut up about his private life and such.

I gotta admit, on the one hand I've never been happy about the way Eddie and Alex deleted Michael Anthony from the VH legacy.
But on the other, Eddie was just a dad who was psyched as all hell to be able to spend time with his kid on the road and jam with him on a nightly basis...

Wolfie was pretty much the reason this entire album happened. He got David talking with Eddie and Alex again and encouraged Eddie to unearth and retool those old demos into what would become most of ADKOT. Yeah, Eddie and Alex were salty and spiteful towards Michael Anthony for their own personal reasons, but Sitar is correct that Eddie's primary reason for even getting the band back together and going on tour was to play with his son on bass in Van Halen. To his credit Wolfie is an incredibly good bassist (as good or better than Mike) who handled the harmonies admirably considering who he was replacing

Time to properly dig Van Halen post-Fair Warning albums in a counterclockwise discog run.
Obviously, starting here.

Good idea. That way it's the story of a band that starts off shaky, then switches singers twice while finding their sound, and then ends with an absolute masterpiece when their original singer rejoins the fold.

Strangely enough, all the songs are good except the opener & closer, imo.
What a weird fact. Nonetheless, a good record.
She's the Woman/As Is/Honey..../Big River, are excellent pieces.

I think this album comfortably kicks the crap out of the majority of modern rock acts.

Album still fucks. Pretty intrigued by this upcoming tribute tour supposedly Roth is on board with Sammy, Satriani, etc. to play some songs with them live. Probably gonna implode just like the last time they tried to share the bill, hopefully they can pull it together for the fans.

The only famous guitarist who'd do EVH justice is Nuno Bettencourt. No disrespect to Satch at all, cos he's obviously one of the greats, but EVH is just not in his DNA.
