New single sounds like TBS trying to be Third Eye Blind when they good…It’s not terrible, at least Adam’s vocals sound a bit healthier than they have for the last decade.

Yeah, I was pumped for new TBS, but I am not sure I am very excited given that single. In TBS's defense though, I am generally not very excited for their albums after the first single.

Is it just me or is this really fucking good? I would say best since Louder, but this is only after one listen. Pretty immediate. I liked Happiness Is but this is hitting a lot harder.
Like this stretch with You Can’t Look Back—Fences—All Excess—I Felt it too (HATE that title tho, very cringe) is stunning. Strikes me as a particularly emotional record, and I wasn’t expecting it. Seems very personal and like they’ve truly grown and matured on this record, if that makes sense.

Definitely. Still gotta listen to 152 but sadly I have low expectations for it based on the general opinion here. And I noticed it’s BARELY an LP which, unless it’s intended as an EP, always feels like b sides-ish to me. And they wanted a full album, but maybe not quite enough material for a fully realized one. We’ll see.

The final 3 song stretch is an emotional wallop, just some really captivating music.

I can tell it’s up there for me. We’ll see if it tops TAYF for me (too early to tell), but it might be at the very least on par with WYWB and Louder Now. This feels like it might have more staying power though.
It just feels like this is the album they were trying to make with Self titled and Happiness, but they’ve more or less perfected that sound here.

Think I prefer Happiness Is but this is still a very good late entry in their discog

TAYF > Louder Now > WYWTB > Happiness > this > S/t > New Again
Don't care enough to listen to the newest one, it looks bad

Have had this on repeat for hours playing cod. This is a fucking fantastic album. Even the t/t, which did nothing for me initially, is actually winning me over (arguably still worst track here).

I’ve listened to this more than happiness is at this point, but I definitely plan on giving that one a few more spins too. I’m gonna listen to 152 but I just think it’s gonna be some neutered and generic material haphazardly thrown together. And the damn thing only has 59 ratings! Didn’t even make a blip. But Hope my opinion differ from the majority.
Ranking! I love to rank. I will always rank when prompted. Worst to best:
New Again
Self titled
Happiness Is
Louder Now
Tidal Wave
Where You Want To Be
Tell all your friends
This is getting very close to topping WYWTB for me though, but nothing is better than A Decade Under the Influence. But WYWTB is also inconsistent at times, a few filler songs for me. This is more consistent.
