hmm I've always related his support of bands such as FIR as him just having shit taste, which I believe he does have, but I honestly would have a hard time believing he does have conservative views as he does really strike me as an old punk head, in that he holds some of the genre's core values
"Finn views music through a business-first lens, so he's praised Ronnie before for being an innovator in the space. He's also heaped praise at "buttrock" acts for being being able to draw crowds."
this is an interesting take, never really took into account but yeah I do know he's got great talent for business
don't know anything about his wife

I was a pretty big Finn fan during his Sergeant D days, so know that I've followed him for a loooooong time lol
He basically "bootstrapped" himself and advises everyone does the same. He understands the tools necessary in order to cultivate a brand, and that's sorta how he looks at underground/punk movements. He doesn't like his tats and views a lot of the rebellion angles as sophomoric and amateurish. His politics are very simple and also downright wrong (for instance, one of his Rage Against the Machine videos has a section of him basically scoffing at the idea of communism and socialism because of the Soviet Union and the CCP.) The less you know about his wife, the better. Although their age gap is also extremely sus and there have been some rumors around that.
I wanna believe his heart is in the right place, because some of his life advice is great and, again, he clearly knows his stuff that he clearly knows about. But he definitely thinks the almighty dollar is also somehow evidence of something being correct and is a hardcore capitalist. He makes fun of people with non-conforming gender, dyed hair, and tats. As mentioned before, he cosigns a lot of very suspect characters like Ronnie and Adam22 (though even he was kinda sus of Adam's porn escapades).
I stopped tuning into Finn's stuff once it became clear that he was min/maxxing his youtube stuff although I've seen some of his second channel (which is just twitch clips) and I will say that it's better than PRMBA. I think he's a knowledgeable voice to learn about the industry aspect of music, but you just kinda have to be vigilant to the fact that he's a dumbass when it comes to the state of the world and might be hiding some bigoted views.

I find it ironic how he slagged off Thursday during the Sergeant D days, yet now shills hard for Ronnie Radke.

Thursday were fucked over hard during their stint at island and they never really got out from under their debt

Oh I’m aware of how rough they had it (especially after reading the book Sellout). I’m just observing that McKenty once wrote an article trashing bands like Thursday (https://www.metalsucks.net/2010/06/07/the-history-of-metalcorescreamo/) back in the day yet now simps over Falling in Reverse and Attila.

Im trying to wrestle between my teeny bopper love for this band and their recent stupidity and whether or not its even worth staying for. Like nostalgia and popcorn junk food trash music is great but when they are heing hypocrites and just kinda dumb makes it even harder to want to stick around

Friendly reminder that ERRA sold out too yet this site gives them a pass, carry on

I don't think I've ever seen a take from Finn that I actually thought was particularly insightful. His take on Dream Theater was the dumbest shit I've ever heard.

In his "what killed Post Hardcore" video, he claimed that Post Hardcore started with Thursday and AFI which is incredibly inaccurate. He doesn't seem to care much for the underground scenes as he's always declaring rock music as "dead".
