This was really underwhelming. But the band has also grown off me as a whole massively ever since AOBU came out. TPR ruled though

Not at all.. AOBU was more dynamic. And the atmosphere of the album, sweet jesus.

To be fair, those are positive qualities An Ocean Between Us do posses. However, those qualities aren't exactly what I clamor for in a AILD record.

I'm not trying to downplay that record; I love it! I remember the first time I heard "Nothing Left". I couldn't get that guitar riff out of my head for months.

I see man. That does make sense since you 4'd this album. Both TPR and Awakened are thrashier, more consistently fast throughout. That seems to be more down your alley hehe

Shadows are Security is AILD's best by a distance.

AOBU. SAS is amazing though, pretty close.

their clean singer sounds the exact same in every chorus. Been saying it since he joined the band. Those parts of the songs are almost unbearable. I think Tim's vocals have improved a lot over the years but I really wish they would just stop the clean parts or get someone else to do it. I liked their old bassist, but man this guy stinks.

I think their old bassist, Clint Norris, never actually got to record the clean singing on SAS. If you do some research you will find all about it. They got someone from another band to do it for them. Go figure

Whatevs, to me it sounds like they put together all of the best elements of their past albums and made it this. Yeah its not very different but at least they didnt do what all that remains did on their new one

They really took a step backwards with this one. The Powerless rise was the best they will ever be. Oh well another metalcore band bites the dust.
