...except that their songs are filled with tons of sections, so they don't repeat themselves that much at all. I can think of only a few Opeth songs that repeat too much, and none of them are on this album.

Listening to Opeth is like watching paint dry...or playing solitaire...
Actually, it's like walking through a gallery of priceless art. It takes a keen eye, genuine interest, and the ability to interpret talent that most ADD victims would miss because they're too busy trying to chase shiny things through a hall. Some people just don't get it.

It all comes down to how much time and effort one is willing to put into listening to the subtlties that a band like Opeth crams into every nook and cranny of their music. I used to think they were horribly boring, but 5 years later, they're one of my favorite bands.

It's ok Iluvatar, plenty of my friends just don't think much of Opeth...so I've dealt with people not "getting it" before. I can understand that this band isn't for everyone.

My second favorite album by these guys. Awesome review. This album definately deserves a 5. They sound like no other metal band out there and I would be shocked if I found a better metal band than Opeth. The best review so far for this album.

Yeah Opeth is now a band that I just constantly listen to for a week straight, then take a week or so off, then get right back into the obsessive phase again. I'm sure it's gonna kick right back in around next week.
I haven't given this perfect album a listen in a while, at least all the way through. I need to get around to that again.

Well it's not bad at all, certainly. I'm not a death metal fan, but I found a fair amount of things on it that grabbed me enough to warrant more listens.
However, I don't think I'll be converted any time soon, but I wasn't at all disappointed
