Take away Prison and Hangover sure

The Noose is a great track but in general this is pretty average for me, downfall in quality from 90's Offspring to now is unbelievably huge.

I know this is late but good review. I don't really understand the hate this album gets. Sure, Hangover and Prison are pretty dumb, but this has a lot to offer. Lightning Rod and The Noose are awesome and underrated songs.

This is my favorite album of all time. The first four albums of The Offspring were obviously amazing from an objective point of view and from a subjective point of view, I love all four except the debut (except for "Elders", which is amazing). With "Americana" however, things started to go downhill. Most of the album was pretty good and "The Kids Aren't Alright" is one of the greatest songs ever created, but a few of the tracks showed a lack of originality. "Conspiracy of One" was the same story, but a bit worse. With "Splinter" however, there was a spark. I love every single track on this album (except for "When You're in Prison", which was just plain weird). Although a bit too short, and lacking a title track (which is alway something I love in an album), this album showed passion, love, and originality. Then it went downhill again.

Some good songs on here, but there's a fair bit of filler which, if removed, makes this more of an EP than an LP, which is a shame (I think somebody said something similar in an earlier comment).
Also I really didn't like Hit That when it was released, so never bothered checking this album out at the time. Might have stuck with The Offspring a little more over the years if I had.
