Wow, I was expecting you to write another 'The Blackening' review and talk about how this album was overhyped. Maybe I will check this out. Still not a fan of any Megadeth after Youthanasia though. This actually sounds like it might be worth while (except for that shitty song A Toute le Monde).

just picked it up. If it doesn't start getting crappy really soon, I'm probably gonna have to give this one a 4, maybe 4.5. Don't think I'd call it classic, but sounds thrashy and *a little* less produced than TSHF

It's their best record in 15 years. Songs like Amerikhastan, You're dead and Burnt Ice are growing on me. Burnt Ice verse riff remind me of Captive Honour.

Had it since Monday, it's really darn fantastic. I'd heard a lot of the songs from the album, so I knew it was going to be good
Can't believe that the UK Total Guitar magazine only gave it a 5/10... but then, they did give The Black Parade 9.

The United Abominations chorus might be my favorite part of the whole album haha.
Also the riff that ends the intro and the chorus in Washington is Next is completely stuck in my head.

Great review , very balanced and fair. I really like about 2 thirds of the album and the rest I don't dislike too much . To compare it to R .i.p et al is unfair , personally I'm well hapopy that Dave's produced an album this good this late in his career . A functional Megadeth is always good news for me
