4. Don't be gimmicky in your reviews. Highlighting songs within the review is fine (bolding, italicizing, etc.), but do not be overly distracting with having a whole bunch of colors.
I'll stick to that guideline from the forum....

Bolding track names and italicizing album names is ok imo.

Why don't you just link the band names? That makes them stand out fine. Italicize album titles and put song names in quotations, there's generally no need to bold anything.

I like bolding because if there's a review for a band I've never heard of before (or at least never heard) and I don't want to read the whole review I can pick out the bolded words and see if the review catches my attention that way... sometimes it does (when referencing other bands) and sometimes it doesn't (when its just the band's name that's being reviewed).

Although I do like that idea...This Message Edited On 09.05.07

Jesus, quit complaining about bolding. You guys can be really gay about tiny things in people's reviews. I didn't even notice the bolding tbh.

Great review BTW. I really want to hear this now. It sounds amazing.

One thing I do want to nitpick, though: Black metal isn't known for its bass playing so I wouldn't put that as a con for the album. It's really not that big of a deal, imo, because I've never expected a metal album to have great bass playing. This Message Edited On 09.05.07

Holy shit everyone calm down, its just an effect. If it's really that much of a problem I'll tone it down but I'm not going to stop using bold, I like to bold album names or band names, I used to use quotations in songs I guess I'll go back to that because everyone's eyes seem to burn when they see bold.

Thanks for the positive feedback though guys.

I like unusual lineups, and two keyboardists sounds VERY neat. Might check this out.
Good review. I find the cons a bit strange though. "Lengthy tracks" isn't usually a problem unless they drag or you have a short attention span. And as someone said earlier, the bass is extremely unimportant in black metal, so yeah... This is exactly why I don't like this "pro-con" stuff, cos albums are often not perfect even though there isn't anything "wrong" with them per se.This Message Edited On 09.06.07

The reason I put "Lengthy Tracks" as a con is because some people simply don't have the attention span to sit down for 12 minutes and listen to one song. I love long songs, but from what I've gathered a lot of people don't.

Why would you put somebody else's opinion or feeling as a con?

Because I like to point out reasons why someone may or may not like it. I don't use the pros or cons as specifically my opinion, but a generalization to try and list factors which would make this album appeal to a person or not appeal to a person. The actual review is my opinion, and the pros and cons are a summary of the good and bad things one may find in the album.

Removed most of the bold words due to people raising hell about it.

Great review, but could have used a few things bolded to help them stand out more.... ;)
