Bounded By Allegiance blew me away seconds ago.

Unbelieveable how consistent they are, still 'have' to find one album that disappoints me.

It's dark and rainy over here in NJ this morning, gonna put this on, light some candles an chant in a black robe.

That solo toward the end of bounded by allegiance is just chocked full of grit.

Sure to put hair on your chest.

Wish you could hear this album the way I do.

To me saying every song sounds the same is ludicrous as I've never heard a more unique band.

(Save for some of the genre mashups that have been successfully pulled off. e.g. Crotchduster )

Some of your complaints, like abrupt transitions when they had just settled into a nice groove drove me mad when I first started listening to enslaved also, but at some point the light bulb went off. Eureka! Those moments are what makes enslaved so god damn brilliant. They are doing things nobody else is because no one else knows how to.

Incredibly unique, one of a kind band.

Neogenesis remains orgasmic as the first time I listened to the song.

Agreed band is pretty revolutionary ^

Personally i enjoy a hand full of their post-Isa albums more than this though. The building blocks are here.. Better executed on more recent works

Some cool stuff here, not sure what to make of it as a complete listen but there are interesting moments scattered throughout. I will reserve judgement until I’ve revisited.

Neogenesis is really good.

There’s some cool riffs here & I dig the general vibe of the album.

This one has potential, heard it twice & prefer it to Vertabrae & RIITIIR.

I will return but Eld & Below the Lights are next on my agenda. Yeah I know my ordering is nonsensical.

I started with Axioma (highest rating). Then Vertabrae & RIITIIR because they were before/after chronologically. Then I wanted to hear how they started so Vikingligr/Frost. Eld is a continuation of that era & Isa continues to work backwards from Vertabrae.

It appears strange but initially it was somewhat logical, kind of messy now though. No idea why I bothered explaining that by the way...

Neither do I, you might as well have just picked albums randomly lol

I like pretending it makes sense, the blissful illusion of organisation. It’s like throwing shit at the wall randomly & declaring it’s a meticulous work of art, agreed.
