This is certainly one of Pink Floyd's best albums but not there best. I'd say that it is their best and most developed "concept" album. I particularly like how you pointed out a lot of subtleties that really add to the concept. Great review for a great album.

Pretty good album, great review. All the little filler tracks sort of kill it a bit unless you've seen the movie and/or familiar with the intricacies of the story.

There is a lot of s*** on the wall, but there is a lot of brilliant songs
eg: brick in the wall 2, in the flesh, comfortably numb, young lust, nobody home, run like hell. DSOTM or WYWH are so much bettrThis Message Edited On 07.06.05

Greatest review ever.
The Wall has always kind of been annoying to me, but I think I'll give it another try sometime soon.

This is probably my favorite Pink Floyd album, I love the live version too. The movie is great too.
Awesome review too, I couldn't have done better myself.

This is truly a wonderful review. It clearly states the story behind the album and movie as well as greatly detailing each song. A lot of effort was put into this and it is a shining effort. This review can make anyone, no matter what they currently think of "The Wall", appreciate it and grow to love it.

As far as I am concerned, this is Pink Floyd's best album and one of the greatest albums of all time. I think it should get more praise than Dark Side of the Moon, it definetly deserves it.

Too much filler.

So, I've come to the conclusion that this is one of the most overrated albums of all time. It's a good album. This Message Edited On 08.19.05

I listen to this album again and I say to myself:
"Holy crap, this is the best album ever."
It's not as much an album as it is an experience. I'm blown away by it every time I listen to it. Its just perfect.

Damnit, that was me.

Just out of interest, any idea why that happens every now and again? Your username just not showing up that is...
Obviously I completely disagree, although the fact that you've still given it 4/5 shows how consistently good they were in those years.

I think that always happens when I try to comment without being logged in. Then I login, and make the comment, and my name doesn't show up.
Yes, they were painfully good throughout the seventies. I think I've underrated Meddle by a large margin, too

Meddle is grade A awesome I love it.
This is my least favourite of the big 5 of DSOTM, Animals, WYWH, Meddle and this.
Still great though, just too much filler for me

I love Pink Floyd, but I could never get into this album, with "Run like Hell" and "Goodbye Blue Sky" being the exceptions.
I never got the deal with the guitar solo in "Comfortably Numb" as well.

I agree with you..
This album bores me a bit to be honest.
I just can't get into it.
As for Darkside.. I love it, every step of the way.
