I think that the melodies are so wacky and corny, especially in Shelob. I didn't like the vocals, the black metal is not extreme imo plus that the band members look incredibly cheesy in their highlander outfits. Its not my kind of folk metal, I thought that the songs was going to be epic and/or atmospheric. I had too high expectations about this album I guess. The only tracks that I like with be #2 and #7.

With 'The Morrigan's Call' comes a lot more aggression concerning the vocals and guitar work, yet it doesn't eschew the folk instrumentation either, making this whole album seem very flowing and accessible. the fact that it's accessible doesn't necessarily fit well in many Folk purists' eyes, but for me it fits just right.

I feel like some of the songs are just outright cheesy... and I LOVE folk metal. Even if its cheesy.. however this is just too cheesy for my tastes. I'll try listening to this album some more but ugh.
