Balls dude. I so know what you mean. Maybe its just me... but I can relate any conversation to LoTR or HP. And like you said, I hate when people act like they never heard of mordor or legolas.

Can't wait for The Hobbit. I wish they did a movie for the Silmarillion though.

The Silmarillion is wayy wayy to epic for the human race.

Billy Boyd makes a surprising appearance in track five, "The Steward of Gondor". It's a very sad little piece and Boyd's singing voice is really excellent.
That scene is so very brilliant.

I can't wait either, sadly it's having a lot of problems being made. Del Toro already left because it was pretty much stuck in pre-production. MGM owns the rights, but their company is in trouble right now and they won't give the go ahead to make it, but also won't sell the rights, so, it kinda sucks :/
The Silmarillion would be epic as hell, but i doubt it will ever get made. Better they leave it alone than do it half assed.

The Silmarillion wouldn't make as good movie material as LOTR and The Hobbit. And yes, they need to get the hell on with that one.

Yeah, you probably couldn't make The Silmarillion into a proper movie.

It's probably the best Tolkien novel though. Or at least it's my favorite

That's what i was thinking, it always felt more like an explanation of what went on before the Hobbit and Lotr and why these events came to pass rather than a proper story. I read The Children of Huren recently and that was pretty dark and depressing.

I didn't read Children of Hurin, but apparently Christopher Lee did the audio version of the book. Which, of course, should be pretty badass considering his voice.
Oh, and on the subject on this soundtrack: I fucking love the Minas Morgul theme.

Children of Hurin is pretty good

Gonna go watch some whorecraft. BRB.

Absolute best version of the Lord of the Rings (well, right next to the movies) was the 1980's BBC recording of the books, it even had Ian Holm in it playing Frodo instead of Bilbo. I have listened to those so many times i can't even count them anymore, it's so well done.

That is really cool. Recently I've been attempting to find the animated movies they released in the 70's and the other day I finally saw The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers; completely awful

I believe i rented those a long, long time ago from the Blockbuster in our town (before it sucked) and had absolutely no clue what was going on. The only thing i remember was how big Smeagol's eyes were...scared the shit out of me as a kid.

Guys, the Minas Morgul theme is awesome. Seriously.

my favorite is "Concerning Hobbits". Honestly, I enjoy the Complete Works a lot more, because they have a lot of stuff that wasn't included on this.
