I'm one of the few that really liked The New Danger. Loved the experimentation. Prefer Black on Both Sides, but I liked his willingness to branch out. That being said, I really like this. It's a good balance between BoBS and New Danger.
On a side note, don't hold True Magic against him too much. He had to put something out to complete his deal with Geffen. It was thrown together so he could move on from there. Geffen sucks. Same thing happened with The Roots and those 2 "Greatest Hits" albums they put out. They did it just to finish out their contract.

I liked about half of the New danger.

A record contract isn't an excuse to make a shitty album.

I mean I knew about the contract situation but True Magic is still terrible.

how can you not like this
|

This album deserves a 4 simply because its great to hear Mos come out with something other than crap- also nice to hear The Ruler back in action on track 3. Even though any fan of Madlib or OhNo will recognize a lot of these beats, Mos does an overall good job adding some rhymes. Bravo!

This is a 3.5 for now, but I like the overall feel of this.

It's a damn shame that this album won't sell much.
|
| |
You don't sell these days unless you're Miley Cyrus.
|
| |
no, you don't sell these days unless you are on MTV. And now that's a shame
