its also nice to see a more objective rating for a metalcore band with (god forbid)..... breakdowns.
People don't dislike metalcore bands because they make use of breakdowns. People dislike metalcore and deathcore which is stale, boring, repetitive, bases every song around the same breakdowns, has little to no originality etc etc. which just happens to be the 'mainstream' trend in metalcore.
I'm glad to see someone with a brain actually reviewed this. I've yet to check it out and have been looking for real review for a while. Everyone else's just says "Oh look, a breakdown: 1/10."
That's not true. People say oh hey this is a record that sounds the same as every other record. And looking for a real review? You mean someone who says this is good? Someone who can back up your preconceived notion of how awesome this should be? Moronic statement basically.

Thats all well and good, but i was really pointing out the fact that there are good discs that get crapped on on this site for being metal core, or having breakdowns, and they're low ratings aren't well justified in the review. and this review seemed fair to me (not having heard the disc myself) i get what your saying about "if you don't share my opinion you don't have a brain" disagree with me all you like but if you call me an idiot i'm going to take offence to it.

Album Rating: 4.0
Although this album is definitely not as catchy as Decimate the Weak, Winds of Plague steps up and does everything better, besides the song writing of course.

Album Rating: 3.0
The breakdowns making a song suck is such a misconception. Between the Buried and Me used them plenty in their earlier work, and even then it was still good stuff.
Yeah the drumming is pretty much the same. He needs to lay off the double bass. It's not even that loud or pulsing its just like click click click in the background of most songs.

i listened to one or 2 songs off this cd and they were pretty dry. might need to pay more attention, but i dont really care to give these guys another chance

Album Rating: 2.5
This band was great when they had their "bro" image. But now it's all gone, no toolish lyrics, catchy rythmns, or anthemic sing-a-longs. Winds Of Plague if you read this, go back to your camo hoodies and tipped hats. Maturity does not do your music any justice.
