Same boring crap they've always done Kudos on doing first review for this, and a negative one too =O Now that's something you don't see everyday.

Good review but the paragraph about the instruments was boring; I understand there's a high chance there was nothing interesting to say about them, but you could have mentioned that (ie a quick summary at the beginning or end of the paragraph saying 'the focal point of the band is the guitars so the rest of the band don't do much to stand out, but they still do a solid job').

Good review, but I've never had much interest in this band.

Have this downloaded but haven't listened yet. Already disliked the band from before so this probably won't sit well with me.

although to Kempainen’s credit most of the solo did fit the mood

Otherwise, solid review. Album is boring.

fixed.

thanks for the comments/feedback.

i realise some might say the band were always boring and stale but i found some fun and replay value in Unhallowed and Nocturnal, however this just doesn't have any of that in my opinion.

but while these lead sections provide a new novelty to listeners for the first few playthroughs ,

no comment needed
However the album’s closing track “I Will Return” does well to combine the two guitar areas with Knight also providing two of the most enjoyable solos on the album.

Pretty sure there should be a comma after "however", and one after "areas" would look nicer imo.
(a trait which first reared its head on the aforementioned Nocturnal).

"the aforementioned Nocturnal" also begins the next paragraph. I'm not sure if that's "incorrect" but it sure looks odd.
I want to say you should shorten several sentences but I have a problem with that too haha.
The content is just fine though, and that's the main thing. This doesn't sound all that good.

thanks ninjuice, i did proof read this a few times while writing, but missed those errors you pointed out because i didn't have a chance to do a final proof read when i posted it as it was 5 minutes before i went to work.

completely agree with everything on the review

trevor definately switched his lows for some core imo

only reason this is a 3 is cause this is still better then most other bands out there.

I never liked TBDM until I heard one of the new songs. Only 3 tracks in so I'll rate this when I'm done. I'm also downloading their older work to compare.

So far it doesn't sound as bad as you guys are saying, but as I said I have heard very little of their material.
