Lol. UP is ridiculously close to this for me. Hard to say which I prefer slightly more.

They're both equal, I mean didn't Atheist practically invent jazz-fusion which influenced Cynic?

Please tell me you meant fusion-influenced metal and not actual jazz fusion.

Might as well branch out to some Atheist and Death while you're at it.

Because they're not really death metal and, while they started in the 90's are more of a band of the recent era. Then again Cynic aren't particularly deathy either.

Opeth's prog death is much different than that of "the big three," and Opeth readily uses acoustic guitars. Plus since location can be a big influence on how music sounds, Death, Cynic, and Atheist are all from Florida.

It is different, but you're (Henchman) retarded for saying that they aren't death metal.

Yeah he is. It's a lot more moody and atmospheric and they use a lot of dissonant chords and melodies

I think I've heard like three death metal-sounding riffs in the six Opeth albums I've heard. Face it, if Opeth didn't use harsh vocals, nobody would ever think they even resemble DM.
