No mention of Novacane??
You do realize he is singing about a big-titted one night stand right? Lyrics are decent, not very deep though - but they are more than sufficient, definitely don't illustrate my point. That being said, the track is 2 of the non-sample tracks that are okay in my book. Surprised no one called me out on "we all try"... That track is surprisingly mature, in the beginning at least.

@Yeti I understand your gripe with the intro but I'm going to keep it - for the lulz of course. "American Wedding" is good. I mentioned that in the beginning and the conclusion - my only gripe is that he leaves the whole solo from the original. "There Will Be Tears" is mind-numbingly dumb. "Songs For Women" Frank is heartbroken that his girl doesn't listen to his music - so sad.

Yea, I'm over-analyzing this. I really didn't enjoy the majority of this album. Thought the lyrics were the clearest way to illustrate that.

four negs and he still hasn't asked for this review to be deleted

this guy has major balls
Was expecting negs - people don't like to see an opinion that differs from their own.

I never intended to "blast" you Hawks. I included your rating to bring it back home - I enjoyed your review and pos'd it awhile back. I wasn't intending it as an insult or anything.

I'm fine with that as long as the reviewer stays away from anything R&B/hip hop related.

I thought the intro was awesome. And this review is definitely well written. People are probably just negging because "omg 2.5"

not low enough of a rating imo. it's not even that i have a gripe with sampling or auto-tune or r&b songwriting. frank ocean is just bad at it.
shit, sampling two popular songs in nearly their entirety and singing loose verses over them is just lazy. there's typically nothing wrong or out of place with sounding like a shallow tool in your lyrics if you're an r&b musician, seriously... i liked The Weeknd as much as the next guy, but fuck.. does he have to go on to sound like a loop of 20 seconds worth of material?
then there's the gimmicky transitions tracks that don't actually add to the LP. ugh

i don't understand how OFWGKTA is doing so well when only 2/10 of their members have talent.

anyway, here's a pos. haters gonna hate, buddy.

i'd say there are three general thoughts about odd future

only one of them is talented (tyler)

only like three or four of them are talented

I don't know. every music-outlet in the world is pretty much beaming over Odd Future...and they're selling out lots of shows...and are all over TV...and its been brewing like this for about a year now.

I don't see why you think that. Tyler and Earl are the most talented without a doubt, but Hodgy has improved tremendously and Domo Genesis and Mike G are both pretty damn underrated. Left Brain and Syd are also great producers. Their lyrics aren't particularly amazing, outside of Tyler and Earl, but I don't think that means that none of the rest of them are talented.

Didn't read the review but the score is much closer then most kiddies seem to give it. The-Dream is in the 4 area, give

or take - so can anyone really justify saying this is as good or better than any of The-Dream's albums?

If you answer yes I"m not surprised.

I love devin the dude and he is quite immature. Of course he is very clever too - cant say the same for our friend mr. ocean though.
