Deviant, I have no idea how you find the time to listen to so much music, and then figure out how to describe what you listen to so in-depth and on so many different levels.
In short, pos.

I really like this - I think I enjoy it a tad bit more than Mirrored, even if there's not a single track as strong as "Atlas".
"The expert musicianship is still there in abundance and the trio performs to their strengths and capabilities admirably, you just get the feeling that this new incarnation of Battles is still in its infancy and not quite ready or capable at taking on the world again just yet."
Comma could be a semicolon - might make this read a bit better.

Probably my AOTY of the year so far. Took me a few listens for it to fully sink in but now I think it's superior to Mirrored in nearly every way.

Really good album. Review is tight, too.
Numan destroys on this. And how about John motherfucking Stanier?

Not my record store. My local is HMV. Ireland is a kip.

"My spell-checker was convinced his name was Hyundai Braxton."

To clercqie
Battles is ridiculously awesome live, I saw them at Lolly a few years back and I think they pull off the sound of the record well. BUT, it was when they still had Tyondai.
Either way John Stanier is half man, half machine and I think it's worth seeing them for him alone.

Battles put on one of the most memorable live shows ever, and they do it without being all that fancy at all. They just flat out rock. But yeah, I saw them with Braxton too.
Also, for like three months after the title of this record was released I thought it was 'Glass Drop', so I was ohh they're playing with the title of 'Mirrored'. A little part of me withered away when I realized it was 'Gloss'. Anyway, review is ace, agree with it completely.
